RIBA North West Seven Cities Award win - 21/06/2012
Architects Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams have been announced as a RIBA North West Seven Cities Award winner for the Moat House, a bespoke private house in Cheshire.
MD Gavin Sorby commented “As a firm better known for its specialist heritage and conservation projects it is particularly exciting to also be recognised for the quality of our new design work.“
Set on a large green belt plot surrounded by woodland, the Moat House takes inspiration from the traditional Cheshire farmhouse to create a single house laid out as a cluster of smaller buildings enclosing a pool and courtyard. The materials used are informed by the vernacular including dressed stone, white render and slate but are detailed to deliver a distinctly modern and unique home.
“After completing several successful projects for our client Ivy Homes, we are particularly pleased to be the architects MD Jamsheed Kamali wanted to work with on his own home."
