Winner of the 3R Awards Best Service Provider 2011 - 11/11/2011
We are very pleased to announce that Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams are winners of the 3R Awards Best Service Provider in recognition for our work at The Museum of Science and Industry Great Western Warehouse.
The 3R Awards (refurb, rethink, retrofit) “reward and celebrate design, engineering and construction excellence that prolongs the active life of buildings and infrastructure, helping the lower energy/lower carbon agenda”. They are supported by the Architects’ Journal, New Civil Engineer and Construction News.
The main aims of the Great Western Warehouse Project were to use the architecture of the building and its spaces to showcase and introduce the MOSI story. The project recognises the continual development of the listed museum building whilst stripping inappropriate insertions back. The original architecture of the building is expressed and, by moving vertical circulation to glazed external towers, the space is opened up and natural light let in.
