Planning permission has been granted for development work at Rhodesia House in Manchester.
The remodelling project is the latest in a strong portfolio of commercial projects by Buttress Fuller Alsop WiIliams that involve listed buildings. Rhodesia House is to be stripped back of varous layers of interior additions to reveal its original features, creating a character office space for client Bridge Properties.
Director Gavin Sorby said: “We wanted to bring the building back to life, not only in terms of usability, but also to give the interior space its own character once again.
The remodelled office space is being targetted to media clients, and early interest seems to indicate the development work shall pay dividends.
“Once again it goes to show that if developers opt for design teams who understand the complexity of buildings such as this, and treat the work sympathetically, there is huge potential in existing stock."
