dean’s eye window named project of the year - 15/05/2007
The Dean’s Eye window conservation project at Lincoln Cathedral has won The Building Conservation Award at the RICS E. Midlands Awards, and was named the overall winner as Project of the Year.
Nicholas Rank, Director and Architect to Lincoln Cathedral said: “we’re delighted to win this award. This has been a very complex project and one which demanded the integration of conservation to the highest standards and innovative thinking about the structure of historic buildings. We worked closely with our professional advisors and the cathedral’s own workforce who helped develop and then deliver this complex project which has restored the finest rose window in an English cathedral. To also win the Project of the Year award was a real bonus, recognizing the complexity of integrating historic fabric with modern technology.
The Dean’s Eye Window will now go head to head with the other regional winners to compete for the national RICS award to be announced in October.
